Question about a return (to BB&B)

This morning I bought a waterproof mattress pad.  It is a padded mattress pad with a plastic backing.

Anyway I just washed it, took it out of the washing machine to hang up to dry - and the stitching on the top is all unraveling.  Seriously?

Would you return it?  And can I take it right back to Bed Bath & Beyond?  The packaging says to return to the manufacturer for replacement or repair.  Personally I feel like it's a piece of junk and I don't want it, replacement or not.

I am going to be SO annoyed if I have to ship this back to the manufacturer.  And I need a mattress pad ASAP, so this is such a pain.

Re: Question about a return (to BB&B)

  • One of my former coworkers also works at customer service at BB&B and I remember her telling me they will take anything back, no matter what, even if you don't have a receipt. I would definitely take it in.

  • I would try taking it back to the store.  You can probably call the store and ask if they will take the return first, so you don't waste the drive.  Overall I think they are pretty good about returns.

  • I would try and take it back to the store, they will probably at least give you store credit, so you could get something else to try. I had that problem with their towels too.

  • They are great with returns, I would take it in! And then run over to JCPenney to get a different one. We have two of their Home Collection waterproof mattress pads and they have been great. They were $35 each.
