Parenting after a Loss

lkstor - a skin question

I just saw you were on and thought I might catch you!

DD has tiny white bumps on her face, arms, and legs.  The pedi said it was milia.  We have tried changing soap and lotion.  It seems like it gets better and then it is bath day again (we do every other day).  Any products you can recommend?

Re: lkstor - a skin question

  • My absolute favorite is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser followed by Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream (in the big tub).  Your best bet for moisturizer is anything in a jar/tub.  They just add more water to get it to work in a pump.

If you have strong feelings about being environmentally friendly, I like California Baby Calendula stuff.  But it definitely doesn't work as well as Cetaphil.

The other tip is to get the moisturizer on her skin quickly after bath.  They have done some dorky studies that show that ideally you get it on within 3 minutes.  So quick blot dry her skin and throw a quick layer of moisturizer head to toe.

Any rough areas I would apply the moisturizer at least twice a day and see if that helps :)
