How do you all get your LO to take poly vi sol? Mine really hates the taste unless I put it in an ounce of BM in a bottle...I would really like to do away with that if possible since we just learned to breastfeed a couple of weeks ago..
Your breastfed baby does not need to take any vitamins like that at all unless he/she has a specific nutritional deficiency. Otherwise, just stop giving them.

Yeah, I should have added above that at DS's 9 mo checkup I told the pedi he rarely gets the vitamin anymore. He said it was fine, it was from some very recent research that iron & vit D supplements for breastfeeding babies would be beneficial- he was very nonchalant about it, I wouldn't worry!
The iron is actually detrimental unless your child has an iron deficiency. It really bothers me the amount of misinformation that pediatricians give to people.
I'm not worried about iron deficiency. DS won't take the D-Vi-Sol because it's so nasty.
I switched to the Carlson Labs Baby D Drops. One drop of the stuff on a pacifier, bottle nipple, or your nipple and let the baby suck for 30 seconds. It's one tiny drop of vitamin D and coconut oil, in comparison to the whole dropper of surgary, artificially flavored and colored nastiness that is the D-Vi-Sol.

Pretty sure Vitamin D is widely recommended and even a requirement in Canada.

DS didn't like it either but he would take it pretty easily. We switched to the one without iron when he started cereal at 6 months and that helped with the taste a lot.

DD took it just fine, but shes weird and loves medicine. She was only on it because she was a preemie. Pedi said DS didn't need it as long as he got 15 minutes of sunlight a day.

And to the PP who said that vitamin D is needed. I agree. I give DD Carlson drops which is just Vitamin D in one tiny drop a day. Not a multivitamin in a nasty tasting syrup that she doesn't need.

It can cause babies to not be able to absorb iron which will then lead to an iron deficiency. https://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/iron.html
