It is nice not eating takeout..

I have been feeling great the last week, so I started cooking again. It feels good to not waste money on takeout! I have just been using what we have in our kitchen, and I'm feeling like my normal frugal self again. Yay! Plus, My husband (who doesn't know how to cook) made dinner last night. I gave him the recipe and ingrediants and told him to ask me if he had any questions. It turned out really well. It was so nice to have dinner without having to cook it :) I think I'm going to teach him how to cook.

Re: It is nice not eating takeout..

  • Every week I am trying to teach DH a new recipe. It is all easy but even something like learning how to ground beef for tacos is helpful and will be especially when baby is here. It is so nice to eat something homemade and not have to cook it.

  • That sounds like a nice dinner!  I love it when my husband cooks...we're both coaches (I teach dance and he is a head athletic trainer) so with the football season in full mode we don't have time to cook...and like you I haven't felt like it!  We're hoping to get back on the cooking train soon...because it does cost way too much to keep eating out!

  • Awesome!  I am so ready to start eating at home - I'm hoping soon I will get over this "nothing sounds good phase".

I wonder what would happen if I gave DH a recipe Big Smile.  I've put him in charge of cooking ground beef for tacos/spaghetti before, but that's about the extent of his indoor cooking skills.
