I heard this name today for a little girl. Just curious what your thoughts are, i hadnt imagined the name Hendrix for a girl (but then again, I named my daughter Presley - LOL)
~Welcome to the world, Presley Ann!! *8/16/11* 8 days late!
Ew. Hendricks is an awful first name, then add in the trendy 'x' and the fact that it's for a girl? *shudder*. I wouldn't be able to take an adult seriously with that name.
I'm going to be the one really odd person and say I like it. Especially because it's paired with one of the most feminine names you can have (Rose). Obviously, I'm a weirdy lol

I would guess this is after Jimmy Hendrix. YK, the famous guitarist???? That being said. I would not use it as a girl or boy name. Just like I wouldn't name a baby Lenon, Clapton, Marley, etc.
I'm picturing a toddler in a beat up leather jacket, candy cigarette hanging out of her mouth, temporary rose tattoo on her shoulder, riding on the back of a tricycle with the neighborhood bad boy who's playing hooky from the local kindergarten.

um yes, I'm extremely familiar with Jimi Hendrix. Not Jimmy, FYI. Hendricks is the more common of the two spellings for a last name, and using the last name of a famous musician doesn't make it any better. Worse actually. Though I doubt someone that would plaster their child with this name actually appreciates a great guitar player.

One of my childhood friend's last names was Hendrix. I actually know several families with this spelling of the last name, but none spelled Hendricks. I assumed that the parents used the mother's maiden name when I saw the post title, although I suppose it's more likely that she was named after Jimi Hendrix.

I'm gonna go with I actually like it... as long as you don't throw a random Z in it just cause. Hendrizx or something horrid to ruin it... Hendrix Rose is pretty.

My first thought was GIN.
And then "horrendous spelling"
And then "last name as first name, in a really bad way."
And finally, "for a GIRL?"
All around terrible.
