Cantaloupe and Listeria

I looked back to see if this was posted - but I couldn't see anything.

There have been 14 deaths due to listeria in Cantaloupe and 18 states have identified listeria in Cantaloupe.

Please stay clear from Cantaloupe!!!!

  • The listeria was traced back to a specific farm (Jensen Farms in CO), so as long as you know that your cantaloupe didn't come from there, you should be fine.  Ask your grocery store if you're not sure.

  • I have been stearing clear of cantelope since this was first posted even though no issues in MA. MD is just too close for comfort.

  • I just read about this! I have a 'lope sitting on my counter waiting to be cut up! It's a different brand than the recall, from California, but I'm still feeling pretty weirded out about it. And that's coming from someone who still eats cold lunchmeat... Guess I'll just cut it up for my hubby to eat!
