Starting daycare

in Toddlers: 24 Months+
DS will most likely be starting day care within the next week.  He will be going part time, about 20 hrs.  I think I am just nervous about the change. He has been with family friends/babysitters since he was a baby. Im sure I will cry more then he will. Any pointers, TIA!

    Tell him where he's going and talk about how much fun he's going to have!  When you drop him off, don't make a big deal or fuss - just hug/kiss and say "see you later!"  If he's crying, know that he'll likely stop within 5 minutes of you leaving.  DC professionals are very used to helping new kids adjust.  It will be harder on you than him for sure!  For yourself, think of the positives associated with DC (socialization, education, etc.) and/or what him going to DC will enable you to do (work, errands, etc.).  Good luck!
