Babies on the Brain

Being a supportive friend...

One of my good friends just m/c this weekend at almost 3 months.  I've never had to go through this (fortunately), and honestly, I'm afraid of saying/doing something that will make her feel worse.  She knows that we are TTC, and babies have been the topic of many of our conversations lately (with her pregnant and me TTC).  Should I avoid the subject altogether?  I can't even imagine what she's going through right now.  I just want to be a supportive friend.

Re: Being a supportive friend...

  • ask her how she's doing?

    talk about other things,

you know it, she knows it, let it be for a while.

  • Just be sensitive about it.  I probably wouldn't bring it up in conversation.  She will want to talk about it when she is ready.

  • Just let her know that you are there for her if she wants to talk. Let her know that you're thinking of/praying for her. You could probably learn a lot about doyous' blog.

  • I think I'd ask her how she was doing, give her the opportunity to say as little or as much as she wants, and then move onto other things.
My heart goes out to her. :(
  • No real single answer..  . I would just tell her you are sorry, and there for her. . DO NOT SAY anything about it being meant to be, something wrong with the baby, ect. .. It is hard for her and you, but it is a fact of life that you both are starting families!
  • Does anyone have the link for doyou's blog?

My heart just cries for her.  They were so excited.  This was to be their second.  I just wish there was something I could do.
