Lap Scars

Okay, I'm not "worried," but I'm curious, and I've seen that several of you have had a laparoscopy done. The lower scar is tiny and can stretch all it wants. It's usually covered by swimsuits, and I don't really care. The one in my belly button is rather large (to me), and I already feel like it's growing outside of my belly button. I always had a belly ring in, so I never noticed it much, but I took my belly ring out this summer when I realized it looked ridiculous on me, and now all I see is this scar. Anyone know what to expect this scar to do and if there's anything I can do to help it?

I have one from my gallbladder surgery. In the belly button and a few to the right. Doctor actually made my button smaller!! haha All I can see is my scar too and I hate it, I wonder myself what it will do when I "pop".

I'm in the same boat with an old navel piercing scar, an inch long scar through the bottom of my navel from my appendectomy, and laproscopy scars from the appendectomy on my pubic line and near my rib cage. Lots of scars, yikes!

I had my gallbladder out and a subsequent umbilical hernia repair.

My belly button never popped!  I guess it is sewn shut.  Because it didn't even flatten out or anything.

After DD was born, my belly button got WAY DEEP.  But I had extra chunk that I didn't have pre pregnancy.

How long ago was your lap? My lap scar seemed to have actually made my belly button smaller. It's very much "in" the navel, so no one can see it. My surgery was in May.

Well I don't have a lap scar, but I did have a scar from a belly button ring that rejected a long time ago. For me it was not good at all. I got stretch marks that radiated off the scar that I could tell would not have been there without it. It was like a run in a pair of stockings that start with a tiny hole. But, I had a huge baby and have a short torso, so I know they are worse on me than others.

Hm I had never thought about this. I had a lap done when I was 13 or so for my appendix. I used to have a cute belly button but the scar there now (all along the bottom) is so ugly. Just from growing, between 13 and now the scars haven't gotten worse and of course have faded quite a bit with time. I got my belly pierced a few years ago too, but it healed really well so I'm hoping it's ok. I guess there's not much you can do about it really.

Same, almost 29w.  You can kinda see how it hung here.  My belly button got wider and a teeny bit shallower.  But not much.  And as soon as Edie came out, the scar was swallowed by my endless belly button.  Never to be seen again.
