April 2012 Moms

Hmm....should I change the date?

So, had my NT scan today. Everything went great, but baby wasn't really trying to cooperate. It took a really long time to get them in the right position. Now, based on my LMP, I should be 12weeks5days but based on my O date I should be 12weeks1day. Not a huge deal, but they said they would keep my LMP date because it was less than a week different. Baby has been measuring ahead of my O date though. Today it was exactly at my LMP, 12weeks5days. So, should I change my tickers? I know it's not that huge a deal, but since we're measuring ahead, I sort of feel like I should move things up a bit. I had just been using my O date from the start. I'd love to almost be a peach...though I know technically, I almost am anyways.

 Thoughts??

Re: Hmm....should I change the date?

  • At my 12w u/s I thought I was 11w5d but I was measuring at 12w3d.  They say that the earlier number is usually the most accurate, and that they wouldn't change the due date.  I would just stick with what you originally had.  My OB said that it can fluctuate between 5-7 days, and LO could just get going through a growth spurt that week ;)

  • Every time you get an ultrasound the date will change it seems. I would just leave it..
  • I guess I'll leave it for a bit. My first dating u/s put my due date at april 7th, my O date has it at the 9th, and my OB is telling me the 5th. I just left everything at the 9th. If things continue to keep me on track for the 5th I may change it later. At least I get to base my gender scan off their dates, which are almost a week farther along than my O date. Then, I get weekly u/s after 20 weeks because of my clotting disorder. I'll certainly get to see the growth....a lot!

  • I've been going by the date from my LMP.

It's tempting to change mine. I'm going to wait until I see the Dr again in 2 weeks though. I probably should go from my LMP since that's what they're doing.

  • I have four dates now: LMP, Ovulation (I felt it), u/s, and the one my MW came up with that's later than the rest to give me a better chance of getting in to the birthing center (they risk out at 41 weeks). I'm going by ovulation, which falls conveniently in the middle.
