I am having the worst pain I have pretty much ever felt in my hip right now. It feels like my leg is getting pulled off of the rest of my body. It extends from the middle of my pelvis back around to nearly my butt. It is also extremely tender to the touch, so even having underwear and pants on right now almost has me in tears.
I went ahead and called in, even told the lady I figured she'd tell me it was RLP and use tylenol and whatnot but since I can barely walk right now I would like some kind of reassurance. She told me I was probably right, and use tylenol and a heating pad (on low of course) but she also told me if it doesn't improve or it gets worse to go ahead to the ER and get checked out.
Well I tell my mom what she said and she's like "well you don't have a pain tolerance anyway" Umm what? That's news to me, but thanks for calling me a wimp, mom... I believe I have a rather high pain tolerance, thank you very much. THEN she goes on to tell me how big I'm getting already, so that's probably the cause. Gee, thanks again. I'm not already self conscious about my body, but this is the SECOND time she's called me fat since I've found out I was pregnant.
Then my friend basically told me to ignore my doctor's office telling me to go in later if it gets worse because "you just have to suck it up, there's nothing they can do for it" yea, yea I get that, but I kind of need to be able to walk. And just because you gave birth 3 times doesn't mean your advice trumps that of the trained medical professional I have hired to oversee my pregnancy.
Lesson learned tonight? Keep my big mouth shut and just call the doctor next time. Again, I'm sure it probably is RLP, and I am hoping the tylenol/heating pad (and maybe even one of the brownies I made earlier) will help, but it's severe enough that I'm ok with following the advice of the nurse I spoke with and going to get checked out if it gets any worse.
Sorry ladies, I just needed to vent.
