Life's ups and downs

Today has been an interesting mix of ups and downs found out my cousin's dog wrecked my favorite shoes, my diet is killing me, and then I heard from my worker my wait looks like it will be longer than she originally estimated. Then my younger cousin came to visit and wanted to talk to us. Apparently having talked to a friend who has been trying very hard to parent but gave birth at 15 and is now 16 found that she was not up to task she wants to make an adoption plan and my cousin is going to put us in touch with each other. I'm on pins and needles waiting for tonight to talk to the girl and then to my worker. It may work out to be nothing at all it might be the newest addition to our family. And the one person who I've been sharing all this with who has been so supportive of us in the process ( my mom) I called to fill her in and she was super negative and that hurt me a lot. So now I'm confused what caused the flip with her and kinda down at her reaction and also dieing to hear more from this wonderful young girl.

I completely understand. You're so totally excited, but not wanting to get your hopes up, but extremely hopeful nonetheless. And then your mom goes and squashes your hopes. My mother did the same damn thing to me. I just have to remind myself that she couldn't possibly understand what I'm going through (she, after all, gave natural birth to four children and aborted one) so I take everything she says with a grain of salt now. When my own child is grown and old enough to make a decision on starting their own family, I know I will be all the more supportive of whatever route they choose to go because of what I'm going through now...Good luck with everything!
