My DF and I adopted a little cat three years ago and we fell in love with it. I wasnt a big fan of it due to my allergies but it was loving at keeping me company in bed when I was sick. We came home last night to find it in a plastic bag on our doorstep. Someone had hit our cat and left no details or anything
We took it down to the vet and got it cremated. I am so distraught at the moment. Why would someone just leave and not write a not or something. That was our furry baby ![]()

Oh, I'm so sorry!
I have two cats, and can't imagine coming home to a scene like that. I'm a little horrified that someone would just leave a cat on a doorstep with no explanation

My guess is the person who bagged your cat up was a neighbor who found it. The person that hit it was probably a stranger who probably just thought it was a stray and didn't care. That's sad, but some people just view animals as animals and don't care about them.
I thought I hit a cat once on my way to work and I was so freaked out I went around the block to come back but nothing was there. So either I hit it and it was ok enough to get out of there or I missed it. Either way, it killed me all day thinking I hurt it.

Of course a note would've helped. Just even "I'm sorry" on a piece of paper. We went around last night and asked our neighbours and they said they hadn't touched it. The cat did have our address on its collar so that's why we think it got to our door.
I'm so sorry. Our neighbors have 2 outdoor cats and I'm really attached to them (they are like dogs and run to you purring, wanting their bellies scratched). One of them went missing and they haven't found him. I was so sad, I can only imagine how sad you must be when it is actually your fur-baby.
I also wouldn't be surprised if someone else found the cat that had already been hit and brought it to you. Poor thing.
