Told my sis today....

So I had been thinking of telling my little sis (shes a very young 18) for a while now, she always tells me her secrets.
So I told her today when she came over. Not sure why, but it was pretty anticlimatic for me :( She was happy for me and excited, but I think i'm just feeling weird about it because we haven't found the hb on our at home doppler and we don't have our next appt until next Thursday.
Plus I think I feel weird because I want to tell my family and everyone else too, but we're waiting til sat.
Anyone else tell some people and not feel right?

Re: Told my sis today....

  • I told only my immediate family and of course everyone else found out.  Not that I could hide it with all my MS.  It feels weird, definitely.  I am a worrier and a FTM (and my DR doesn't do US or doppler until 10 wks, which is this week - thank god!) and so concerned that something is wrong or going to go wrong and then I will have to explain it, ugh.  It sucks.  You are not alone.

  • We told right before 11 weeks and it felt ok. I'm not worried about something happening now (which is a small lie because there is always worry in my head). Don't worry about telling because you haven't heard the heart yet at home. I hear that can be tricky depending on how your uterus is positioned or how early you are. I told my best friend right away and I didn't think she would out me, but there was always a slight worry of an accident of her saying something she shouldn't before we told. But that never happened.

  • I've told my family and his family and gave the okay for extended family (gparents, aunts/uncles and cousins) to find out. As far as friends, I only tell people right after a doc appt so that I don't have any worries/weird feelings.

  • We told my sister and BIL at 7 weeks. They are the only people we've told. It was pretty exciting this time around, but when we told them w/ my last pregnancy, it felt anticlimatic too. I'm not sure why. I was kind of hesitant to tell them this time b/c of that, but I couldn't put it off any longer b/c we usually all hang out and drink together on the weekends.
