but she totally deserved it. I went to Subway for lunch b/c after going through a list of foods, a sandwich finally sounded like something I could eat.
I'm in line, and this 60/70 yr old woman is all up in my koolaid behind me . . . and I order my sandwich, and she says "honey, you should really get chicken, it's much healthier for you". I turned to her and said, "i appreciate your concern, but I'm pregnant and the sound of chicken makes me want to vomit right now, so I'll stick with one of the only things I've been able to stomach for the last month". And then I turned around, but couldnt keep my mouth shut, and then said, "oh, and you'll be happy to know I'm not getting cheese, but that's just bc this baby has made me lactose intolerant".
I felt a little bad, but she didnt say a peep to me after that. Why dont people mind their own business, seriously?!?
Re: I was snarky to an old lady . . .
Haha Tambcat - so true. My great grandma was the queen of inappropriate. I have no doubt I will follow in her footsteps as I wisen with age.
On a side note, like another poster mentioned, I can't wait to eat normal foods again. I'm tired of goldfish, pretzels, cereal, and sandwiches.
Haha - true! I don't see or talk to my ILs enough to be snarky. My mom on the other hand . . . I have a feeling she'll be getting "special treatment" as I get more irritable due to proximity.
LOVE IT! Fi and I can't wait to be old and say whatever the fvck we want with out serious repercussions. He wants to be a dirty old man that hits on all the young hot babes.
and OP, good on you for getting her to keep her mouth shut.
