FB elastic quandary

Before DS was born, I bought a dozen small FB used from a local lady.  I have been using them, along w/BG4s, which comprise most of our stash.  The FB have been leaking around the legs, though when LO poops in them. Now, the problem isn't there w/every poop and every diaper. DH and I have noticed it seems to be worst w/a particular color (odd, I know). I think the dipes are more used than the other colors and am wondering if the elastic isn't beginning to wear out? This is all I can think of. The elastic doesn't look drastically worn, though. So here's my quandary...I'm decent w/a sewing machine and I hear that the elastic is easy to replace. Has anyone done this? I looked at the diapers yesterday and can see where I should rip the seam apart but I'm a bit nervous to start the process. I'm also just tempted to re-sell the dipes for the cheap price I paid for all of them and re-invest the money into more BG4s w/their sale. The BG4s have been bullet-proof for us so far. Thoughts??
