MIL rant

My MIL keeps commenting on how I must be expecting twins. Every time I tell her that I've had two ultrasounds and there is in fact only one baby in there, but she always responds that you never know where one "might be hiding." Well, she said it again today and even joked about triplets and I snapped. I told her, "I'm glad you think I'm big enough to be expecting twins." She got all defensive, saying it's not that I'm big, just that my whole stomach looks pregnant already. Because that's better. She then said that she had to start wearing maternity clothes months earlier with her second than with her first. I said, "Well, that's what happens with number 2." And then I left.

Yesterday I went to a birthday party with DS and a lot of people were seeing me pregnant for the first time and they could barely tell, so I feel like my MIL is either being mean on purpose or just thinks it's "funny." Yeah, not so much.

My MIL keeps insisting that I must be further along than nine weeks. Driving me freaking crazy.

That really sucks. If someone kept saying that to me, I would just cry. Getting bigger really is not fun and no-one needs to rub it your face.

Sorry, I had a friend last time that would say the same things. Nope, just one super large 10 lb baby My whole stomach is looking bigger this time around, but that's just bloat and weaker abs.

I haven't talked to my mother in law in about 3 years. She is a lunatic but some other family members on my husbands side have been irritating me to no end lately. We have had to go thru fertility treatment in order to get pregnant. The last year has been a mixed bag of nightmares and blessings. We managed to get pregnant our first try but lost that little guy at 5 weeks, then we had an ectopic back in March. Now, I am pregnant for the 3rd time and it seems to be good so far. One of my inlaws fb me several times asking if I needed to have an IUI done. We didnt indulge in any details or even tell them we are pregnant until a couple weeks ago...she sent my husband messages asking if we had an IUI as well. He avoided the questions. So she had put something on her fb about how she caught a couple people lying to her recently on facebook. I am assuming she is talking about me and my DH...What gives her the right to even ask more then once after we gave her a NON answer and then get kinda nasty about "lying" about it. Its noones buisness!

I'm definitely looking bigger right now than I did with DS, too, but that seems to be par for the course for #2. However, I'm pretty sure I'm not anywhere big enough to look like I'm having twins. I thought it was common knowledge to not tell a pregnant woman she looks big, even if she is expecting multiples. People amaze me.

This would drive me up the wall. It is no ones business except you and your partner's how you got pregnant. You're pregnant, can't see just leave it at that. That irritated me to read, so God only knows how you feel.

That is rude!! So sorry!! I am expecting twins and yes I have a belly but it's not huge or ridiculous! I would so want to say, I am expecting what is your excuse and pat her belly!!

UGH! I have a friend that does that! Every time I post a belly pic to the few people that do know she says "yup, there's 2 in there", GAH just STFU!

I am sorry in my own rant I guess but I wouldn't be too happy about it either. I would just distance yourself from her and maybe you will get your point across. Some people have no common sense!

My MIL just says things well, it just looks like you need to poop and stuff like that. It is annoying. We live in a different state than all of our family so DH has been taking weekly pictures of me to send to my mom and such. Well, last time my MIL said I just looked like I needed to poop and I looked just like I gained some weight from eatting too much. It really annoyed me so she is no longer included in the emails I send anymore.

I have that problem with MY mom. She's a fraternal twin, so obviously she knows they run in my family and *gasp* I'm showing faster with this baby. I have a pregnancy blog and mentioned my "little bean" in a post and she went as far as posting "or beans" as a comment. Seriously, wtf is wrong with people? As soon as I told her I was pregnant she all but called me fat and now she's on this twins kick. I'm glad she has ultrasound vision and can see into my uterus since she swears I'm carrying twins.
