Bottles?

How many 8oz bottles did you have on hand for your twins? I have 15, but I'm thinking I'm going to need more....don't want to have to clean bottles during the day...

Re: Bottles?

  • We had at least 16, plus a few extras. I wanted to be able to have a day's worth of bottles in the fridge at a time. I ran the dishwasher once a day.

  • I think in the end we had about 16 or 20 that we used on a daily basis.

Only buy a few of each type first though.  You never know what kind they will like.  We went through probably 6 or 7 kinds until we finally found the winner.  Then I went and bought a ton and sterilized them en mass.

  • We have 30 of them.  We were using 10 a day so, we would run the dishwasher every 2-3 days. Luckily the girls did great with the cheap Evenflo bottles so we just stocked up after a couple weeks.  Now we only use 6 a day, so we have ditched half of them.
  • Don't make the same mistake I did and go out and by a TON of bottles only to have one of them not like them!  I bought 32 AVENT bottles - 16 each, so 2 days worth of bottles.  Well, DS decided he didn't like the AVENT ones, so I went out and bought him Dr. Brown bottles.  I bought some and then a friend gave me some, and my OCD self had to have the same number of each (I know, strange...), so now I have 32 AVENT and 32 Dr. Brown bottles.  I still run the dishwasher either every day or every other day.  I'm the same way, I don't like having dirty bottles in the sink, but I also don't like filling them every day, either.

  • I think we have 18, but we still run the dishwasher twice a day because we can only fit 12 bottles worth of parts in the dishwasher at a time. Dr Browns bottles can be such a PITA!
