Acne products?

I've been breaking out around my chin and jawline and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for products that have worked for them?  I currently use Aveeno skin brightening scrub and Aveeno moisturizer.  I've read that salicylic acid should be avoided during pregnancy (but don't want to start a 6 page debate about that one, haha).  Any thoughts?

P.S. Not that many of you would have noticed but I haven't been around much since I don't want to go on the Bump at work.  I try to read and post when I can and miss more regular posting :( But since I'm a loser at home on Saturday night I'm catching up now!

Re: Acne products?

  • Burt's Bees has a natural tea tree oil product that can help clear up break outs.

  • Someone on here recommended witch hazel to be used as an astringent.  I picked some up yesterday @ target, so I'll let you know how it goes...

  • My doctor told me to wash my face twice a day. In the morning, use astringent (i use the brand sea breeze) and at night i actually wash my face with the cleanser cetaphil, and follow with astringent. Also, i take an extra 100 mg of B6, which has helped tremendously. And if you are having trouble with blackheads like me, use a natural clay mask, such as Queen Helene, one to twice a week.

  • my dr is ok with benzoyl peroxide products so I have been using the clean and clear line and mixing in a handful of sugar to mimic a scrub once a week. also dont forget basics like switching out your pillowcases a lot and wiping down your phone :)

  • I second the Burt's Bees recommendation.  I've been using it for my face (which looks like a pubescent teenager's) and it's been doing a great job at clearing up breakouts.
