On such a feisty day, I should avoid any topic that could be misunderstood, but I don't really care. I have a "work husband." It is completely professional, and we've never spent time together outside of work. My (real) husband is aware of this relationship, and when he first heard the term, he immediately said, "John is your work husband, isn't he?"
Anyway, I told him about my pregnancy, since we work closely together. His wife had a baby a year ago this Thanksgiving. I wasn't sure how he'd react, since I'll be gone for the last quarter of the year. I just received a job position that kicked the other band director out of her position, and now I'm leaving before school is out, missing our last concert.
He is over the moon excited for me! Every day he asks how I'm feeling, what I've been craving, what the heartbeat is, when my next appointment is, etc. He told me to take off the rest of the year and don't feel guilty about it at all. I'm so glad that the one person I have to work so closely with is on board with this roller coaster I'm headed for. I hope some of you are able to have someone of support (not just someone who wants to tell you what to do and how to do it and horror stories) where you work (even if your work is your home!).
Re: My Work Husband
Good for you - that's great! I'm glad you have someone supportive at work
I don't have a work husband because where I work...there are no men, haha!
I'm not currently working, but I've had a work husband at some of my jobs and they are awesome. I've also been a work wife to other guys LOL. I've told all my old work husbands and they've all been really excited for me and DH.
That's awesome! My "work husband" is my REAL husband! LOL He's pretty good, but you know, could always be better. HAHA J/K
But my boss, now my boss, he is something else. Screams when I'm too slow, when I'm too fast, when I've messed up only slightly, when I change routines. He's whiny and picky and boy is he bossy. LOL He's only 13 months old though, so you put up with it.
