Would you pay $$$?

For an early ultrasound? I am getting my anatomy scan at 17w2days ( nov22 my birthday) but I found a place online in my area that will do them at 15 weeks for only 99 bucks. You get a whole bunch of other crap with it too like lullabies and it on video and pics and stuff. But I wonder if it is a accurate at 15 weeks or if I should save the $ and wait 2 more weeks.

Save your money! It's only 2 weeks. I got video of my u/s with DD on DVD and a 3D u/s included as well, all included in my regular u/s.

I know you are excited and all to find out, but you really couldn't wait the 2 weeks for your anatomy scan?  I guess I just don't understand the whole finding out as soon as possible thing...maybe because I was team green with DS and will be with this one.  Last time I had the NT scan on my birthday and was just so tickled to see the little baby on my birthday.  I believe it would be the same for you to find out on your birthday.

I'm assume this is for dating and seeing the baby and not actually to find out the sex.  If it to find out the sex, it is about as much as a waste as the Intelligender (or whatever they are called) tests.

Honestly, I'm pretty well planning on it.  I have my first u/s tomorrow.  I'll probably go in at 15 weeks to see if they can detect the sex of the baby.  I want to know so badly - it's going to be $75, and I get NOTHING else with it.  It's crazy, it's stupid, it's a waste of money, but I'm giving it to myself as a gift.  And I will gladly receive my thoughtful gift and send myself a thank you card later on.

I would wait the two weeks. Save the money and buy something fun afterwards.

Hmm... this is a tough one! I'd probably wait because after the 15 week u/s you probably won't feel 100% about the gender anyway. Then you can spend the $99 on a gender specific baby item!

I wasn't expecting to have one until 20 weeks (that's what my OB told me to expect) but today I went in and expressed my anxiety over whether or not we're having twins (at a higher risk) and they did one for me - 12 weeks. Not much to see honestly but VERY exciting!

Remember that it's never guaranteed you'll even be able to tell the gender, even at the anatomy scan.

This happened with my son, his legs were crossed and they couldn't tell, and we were so excited to find out.  We had to wait until he was born, since that was the last US.

But...it was very exciting to wait until the birth.  We are going to wait again on purpose this time.

Yes you are correct purely for dating and seeing the baby. I know it?s way to early to find out the sex.

I know its creepy, its a waste of money, blah, blah, blah. To me it's not creepy or a waste of money

We're definitely doing it. My u/s isn't until 20 weeks, so I'll shave four weeks of waiting off by going in at 16 weeks. We'll probably take a vacation around weeks 19/20, and it would be fun to know before I go so I can bring back something! The places I looked at all let you come back for a free quick peek if baby doesn't cooperate the first time.
