It kills me to use all that water, but they won't bathe together anymore (as it should be - DS is 6) and to me, they needed a bath for a reason and that water isn't so clean anymore...

This. Each of our kids gets their own bathwater.

Entire families used to use the same bathwater when people only took one bath a week, at most. By the time they started with the parents and worked their way down to the baby, it was pretty dirty water. Hence the expression "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater".
I don't think that 3 kids who probably get bathed at least 3 times a week are so filthy as to make the water "gross".
Reuse the water, especially if your area is affected by drought. I have never seen anything like this board for wasting resources.

I don't think it's gross and I'd have no problems bathing a 3rd kid after 10 minutes as long as the water is still warm and there's nothing visibly gross (dirt, poop, too much soap). I bathe my two together, but if one is messing around and gets in after the other is already out, I'm generally not going to refill with fresh hot water.
We are in a drought conditions but we aren't on water limitations yet (AND its raining cats and dogs today : )
It was a random thought, technically it does seem the same either way the kids are sitting in the same bath water (still has all the soap and probably pee) but the later seems grosser to me (waiting that time period).
DD always showers due to her eczema, about half the time we stick the boys in the shower also. Otherwise, they mostly bath together (in the same water at the same time).
Re: is this gross re: bathwater
Grosses me out.
And it would be cold by then.
If you said you took the first two out and put the third right in, that would be cool with me (for some reason).
I mean, I guess it's just semantics but having the water sit there for 10 minutes - I would drain and refill.
Isn't there alot of soap/shampoo in there by then?
A half drain and refill might be a happy medium. Are you in the area of TX where there is a major drought?
Mine get new water in between baths.
