What are you taking for heartburn?

Tums are just not cutting it!  I can eat 2 or 3 at a time and no relief.  Is anyone else taking anything else?  I don't have my first appt for 2 more weeks and I'm for sure going to ask then if there is something else I can take.

I've been keeping Maalox tablets on my bedside table. I find they are stronger than tums and work quicker. Although they still have the chalky taste that i'm finding slightly disgusting these days.

i have used tums but I hate that when I puke them up it makes my vomit so thick.  yes, the joys of morning sickness.  my coworker swears by prevacid so that is my next med to try.
