Hi, all! I'd thought I'd take the time to introduce myself and ask a few questions.
I just found out that my 10.5 mo old has tested positive for egg white (level 4), peanut (level 3), and wheat (level 3) allergies. Soy beans, corn, and sesame seeds also registered but were low on the scale.
We decided to have him tested due to his moderate eczema that presented at around 4 months. His eczema comes and goes, but it is still an issue with him.
Questions - do you guys have any recommendations on wheat-free & egg free snacks? I currently feed him Cheerios (which I'll have to eliminate), yogurt melts, Gerber corn puffs, Mum-Mums, and baby-friendly rice cakes which are all easy to take with us when we're on the go.
I know that all allergies are different, but I'd love to hear stories on egg white, peanut, and wheat allergies similar to the level DS is - reactions, how / when did you find out your child had these allergies, food elimination diets, and what you've experienced overall with similar allergies.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Intro & question
Easy wheat-free snacks -- Rice Chex, fruit, cheese, pirate booty, glutino pretzels
buy gluten free chex cereal. Mix jelly and sunbutter (or almond butter if you're comfortable) together and smear it on a chex piece and close it with another and you have a little chex sandwich -yumm! my son lived on these for a LONG time. (i have photos on my blog).
you might have to wait though until he's 1 to give it to him since it might be a choking hazzard.
my son is allergic to eggs/milk/soy/peanuts. (he had a sesame allergy but grew out of it - yay)
