April 2012 Moms

Come in if you had an appointment today!

I had mine first thing this morning and it went great.  Overall a boring appt with a pap and other routine tests, but we got to hear LO's heartbeat!  Yay!  I was so relieved!  I know we aren't out of the woods until we get to bring LO home from the hospital, but it feels reassuring to be almost at the end of 1st tri with a growing baby with a heartbeat.  I feel very thankful today.  :)

Anyone else have an appt today?  How did it go?

Re: Come in if you had an appointment today!

  • I did. Everything went well and I saw the heartbeat again, along with the movement of one foot. After today, I am being released from the fertility clinic and will begin seeing my OB from this point on.

Glad your appt. went well too. I'm jealous that you are already so close to the end of 1st tri!

  • I had an appointment today as well.  This was my second appointmnt (12 week appt 1 day early).  All was well.  I got to hear the heartbeat.  Did all my new pregnancy paperwork, billing and other boring stuff.  I also got a flu shot.

I go in this Wednesday for my NT scan and then back in 4 weeks for my 16 week check up.  I'll also be getting my glucose test at my next appt.

I received a flyer at today's appointment stating that my doctor's office will do an u/s to check the baby's sex upon request request for $50 starting after 15 weeks.  I'm really excited now about the possibilty of knowing the sex in just  over 3 weeks!  Then I can have it confirmed at my 20 week anatomy check ultrasound.

I also got a flu shot.

I totally forgot to ask about getting a flu shot.  I'm pretty sure my OB's office doesn't offer them so I'll probably have to head to Walgreens again this year.

  • I had my NT Scan today... the baby looked good but would not get in the right position so I have to go back NEXT monday to try again... ce le vie...

  • We had our 3rd u/s today, but after a looong 4 week wait.  But we saw (and heard!!) the hb at 157 bpm...I can't believe how big LO has gotten since our last u/s!  I wish the picture was better...it was kinda grainy, and I was hoping to see something more clearly, but as long as everything is healthy, I'm fine! Baby was measuring a little ahead of schedule (12w3d) but OB said it can fluctuate between 5-7 days.  I also got my flu shot, and I didn't cry one bit ;)  My bp is a tad high, so I have to go back next week to do a check up before they determine if it's time to start thinking about medicine or not.  We're still deciding if we want the NT scan (I know it's last minute) but we're just worried that if for some reason the test comes back high risk, that it will stress me out too much...we're still debating it.  Also, trying to decide on buying a doppler too, but haven't yet because of the same concerns.  But overall, a great appointment!  We even allowed ourselves to take a trip to Babies R Us to look around and get excited :)
  • Yep had my dating us and a bunch of getting to know you stuff with the dr. Baby's heart beat was going strong. Wow it is really becoming real!

yes! mine is 2.5 hours away still but who's counting the minutes.... :)

  • First appointment today and all was perfect! We are still debating about the NT scan for the same reason. We both tend to stress, so we are unsure if we want to add all of that stress and know that the scan won't change our minds on anything. My doctor didn't seem to think that it was essential and said that markers will be visible later on one way or the other.

  • I had my first appt today. I am 10.5 weeks. I was not able to hear the hearbeat at this appt..kinda bummed but nothing we could do about it-I go back on Oct. 17th for my sonagram. Everything seemed to be good otherwise.
  • Just got back from mine.  It was the first appointment with the midwife, so I got the whole pap smear, std check, and heard the heartbeat.  It was 170 and Squidworth was moving around.  Everything went great until I was told they were moving my due date back 7 days.  Ughhh, that means I'm at 10 not 11 weeks and in the trimester a wee bit longer.  The plus side, I can save 5 days of maternity leave.

  • I had a follow up appt today due to a yeast infection, and some spotting over the weekend. I had another u/s, we were able to see and hear the baby's hb (176 bpm).

My dr confessed that I didn't really need to come in today, but he wanted to see me and the baby, since he hadn't had a chance to do so yet. Today was my first day meeting with him due to a bunch of random stuff.

  • I had my first ultrasound today.  We got to see our babies heartbeat, 174 bpm. Also the baby was moving around like crazy which was pretty amazing to see.  It made everything so much more real and we are SO much more excited than before, which I didn't think possible.  9w1d, due Earth Day 2012 (perfect for this hippie chick)!Big Smile
