Toddlers: 24 Months+

Does your toddler snore?

Just within the last week DS has been snoring (very loudly).  Like, wake everyone up in the middle of the night loud.  He has not been sick or stuffy at all.

The only thing that concerns me is that he'll gasp for air (for less than a few seconds), then start coughing, fall right back asleep and the cycle continues.

I'm thinking of calling his pediatrician today...

Re: Does your toddler snore?

  • DS does and it is due to his tonsils being massive.  The pedi did ask us if DS was showing any signs of sleep apnea:

The pedi told us to be on the lookout in case DS stops breathing while sleeping, then gasps for air before falling back asleep. DS does this (sounds similar to what yours does), but the doc said they will stop breathing for a lot longer than a few seconds. I always say to call and see what the pedi says. That's why they are there!
