I am new posting to the 6-9 month board as DS just turned the big 1/2 over the weekend
Saturday night, DH and I really thought DS was going to start crawling. He was up on his hands and knees and was rocking back and forth like crazy, so much that he scooted himself forward and looked at us like "whoa! I didn't know I could do that!". However, when we sit him on his own, he topples over immediately. We practice a little every day, and we haven't seen him gain any stability.
I know babies all develop at their own speeds, however I was always under the impression that babies typically sat up on their own before they started crawling.... Anyone else in the same boat?

Our LO is 9 1/2 months. She Army Crawls, and can sit on her own, can stand if holding onto something, but can't go from a crawl to a sit.
Its funny how every baby does their own thing. I swear she doesn't crawl on all 4s because she wouldn't be able to carrying things with her.
