DS only uses his binky for nap and bed. We have always only used the round tip kind so that it falls out when he falls asleep. He definitely has buck front teeth from it and I noticed just today that the bottom front two are moving inward a little. Because of various reasons (illness, school starting, etc.) we haven't taken it away yet and were planning to for his 3rd b-day (as in hello b-day, bye bye binky). Most of what I've read (and our dentist at his last appt 6 months ago) suggested that his jaw/teeth would realign after binky is removed and that 3 was the age it needed to be gone by. I can't help myself worrying that they are stuck that way though and I've doomed him to orthodontial or jaw problems down the line. (I think I'm particularly sensitive on this issue because I had buck teeth as a kid and had 3 bouts with braces--not binky related though). Did your DC's teeth shift back after you took away binky? I realize in some ways there isn't much we can do now, but I'm hoping it will correct itself at least partially when taken away.

Yes. Without a doubt. We were told by Matthew's dentist that we needed to take away the bink and that *maybe* his overbite would just go away. I was doubtful. We took away the bink and within 2 months, I could tell the difference.

ETA: The problem wasn't fully resolved within 2 months, but it was well on its way to being resolved. Also, we had the same binky habits. (Car and bed only.)
