Eczema

Anyone elses eczema getting worse now that you are pregnant? What have you done to make it better? I normally would go to the dr and they would put me on a steriod but now that I'm pregnant I don't know what the normal treatment is. Thanks for your help!

Re: Eczema

  • I'm just lurking but I wanted to say that mine is also getting worse.  It's around my nose and I wish it wasn't so noticeable.  I used to use a cream that worked well but I would have to get back to you on the name.  I haven't had it this bad in years,  so I really don't remember.  Maybe ask a pharmacist at your local drug store for creams that work?

  • I have eczema and it is getting bad. I remember from last PG that this was one of the worst things throughout the pregnancy! I could not use a steroid. I use ecerin and it helps some. I also make sure to always use lotion after I wash my hands and after showers. The worst place for it was my ring finger and I had to take off my wedding ring early because of the itching. Good luck. Also, try not to take super hot showers. You can also do an oatmeal bath if it gets really bad. That is all I remember from last time.

  • Mine has gotten worse too- I get it on my hands.  I recently bought Aveeno Eczema cream and its working pretty well.  Its the best over the counter cream I've found.  If you're into natural treatments, olive oil works really well.  Sometimes I put it on my hands at night and cover them with white cotton gloves.  They feel like silk in the morning...smooth as can be.
  • Best non-steroid treatment I have found it getting wet as little as possible, lots of good lotion (try and extra-dry skin kind like Curel), and Vaseline.  I have it on my hands, and putting on Vaseline all the time when I don't need to use my hands, like watching tv, etc. and putting it on at night and then wearing cotton gloves helps.
