I had to take a pregnancy test today

So last month I had a bad bout of mastitis.  Yesterday I started having bad pain in my right breast and by last night I had a fever and it felt like I had been hit by a bus.  So the midwives had me come in today for an exam to see if I had mastitis again.  The first thing she asked me was "is there a chance you could be pregnant?"

Whaaaaaattttt?

Ok, I've done the deed maybe 3 times since delivery, haven't had AF yet, no sign of ovulation, I'm exclusively BF'ing.

So I had to get bloodwork done for white cell count, thyroid and yup, a pregnancy test.

DH and I laughed the whole way home...and secretly were wondering if we had conceived a miracle baby.

Got a call at 4pm today that my thyroid is fine, it's not mastitis this time (just a clogged duct), and I am not with child at this time.

Hm, and a little part of me is actually disappointed.  Isn't that funny...

I think after however many years of being scared sh*tless about the prospect of a BFP, hitting the TTC phase and then pushing on through TTCAL, it's impossible to not want those tests to be positive. Even if you're not quite ready for that next child, just because for once it would have been easy.
