Oh lordy me. Yeah, my cousin taught a Placenta, apparently. I thought she was kidding until she showed me the yearbook. Apparently she insisted on being called Ce-ce.

My least favorite names when I was working at a daycare were the ones on here that are called you-neek (sp?). We had a million different Aiden's but it irked me when mom would spell it Aidyin, or something equally ridiculous. Another example was a little girl whose name was Emily, pronounced exactly that way, but spelled EmmaLee, no space. Mom would introduce her to be signed in and then get p*ssed when we spelled it Emily.
Some of my other, least favorite names include: Gunnar, Stone and Gray. All boys.

I subbed the first year out of college and I had a kid in the class named Soda Pop. I thought they were just kidding, but there it was on the roster. I have seen some crazy names being a teacher but that takes the cake for me:)

My friend's niece is named Laughter. Not a bad name - it's actually kind of cute - but you know she's going to get made fun of if she ever has a bad day.

I have a friend who is a teacher and she had a student named shithead! pronounced shi-th-ead, but obviously spelled ***-head!
My ex's mom was a judge for adoption cases and, this is all hearsay, there was a a bother and sister, Shithead (Shy-ted) and *** (Ah-sole-lay), being adopted by their grandparents and having their names changed in the process.
I also know a kid named Seven. They named him that and then through family pressure called him by his middle name which was very average until he got into Grade 1 and then when school started he decided to go back to Seven so it got switched back on all the documents.
I have subbed for students named; Sterling, Diamond, Steele, and so many kids with names not really appropriate in English by families who didn't know any better because they were from different cultures where saying their children's names did not bring on chuckles.
Two really bad names from this school year, J-Monee and Esteici (Stacy). J-Monee wouldn't be that bad if it was a nickname but WTF is up with Esteici?! I don't know what these parents are thinking...
There was a teacher in my middle school, Mrs. Dover- you may see where this is going. No lie, she named her son Ben Dover. Not Benjamin. He was in my grade level. Both she and her H thought this was just hilarious.

My FIL is a college professor and taught a La-a. Obviously, we all find it completely ridiculous, but listening to a 65 year old man rant about it is even more hilarious.
Also my BFF is a children's speech language pathologist. She had an Abcde (ab-sa-dee) last year. We used to joke about Abcde's inevitable brothers and sisters, Fghij and Klmno.
Some of the worst I've meet are Maryland (boy) and Johnson (girl). I mean really?? Maryland? For a boy even? And Johnson for a girl, the penis nickname?! This poor girl will never survive her teenage years...

I am completely baffled by Esteici. Why the silent E at the beginning? That is one of the worst failed attempts at uneek-ness I've ever seen.
I was at the post office once and this mom was looking for her child. She was calling "Buckley!" and I didn't think anything of it until Buckley turned out to be the cutest little blonde girl. I don't even like Buckley for a boy. It was weird.

The "E" is not silent! It's pronounced Eh-Stacy, lol. Her middle name is Paola, which is not too bad, so I don't know what happened with the first name!
Re: Worst baby names you've heard?
I *really* love Pinterest!
The other day the baby name board was losing it over someone named Ctephany - that would be a weird spelling of Stephanie, btw.
*Counting the moments till someone mentions the dreaded L-A

My cousin named his daughter this! No middle name either.
I am not a fan of Sloane, especially for a girl.
Welcome to the world, Baby W: born on 3/8/12 @ 3:49pm - 8lb 11 oz, 22 in.
Man...Hope: good. Diamond: okay. Hope Diamond: mean, especially when it's a pageant girl.
As an English major, I almost love that just for how literal it is.
Is L-A an urban myth? Someone told me their friend taught a la-dash-a, but sounds like it might be a made up story huh?
I read her NN as *CdashC*
Just an FYI about names like L-a, Orangello, Clamidia, etc...

Ya, it is, but people always swear it's for real.

Abcde prononced Ab Ca dee, my sister's MIL worked in a school office and this was the name of one of the kids.
