I am so excited.
I have been substitute teaching for three years, after getting my bachelors in photojournalism (just as all of the newspaper started firing people).
The closest I had goten to a job was freelancing for my local 'little town' paper, which was failing miserably on things, like, spelling things right and having accurate info. I gave up on that after they didn't call me for 6 months... I wasn't happy with being associated with a paper commonly called 'The Daily Fiction'.
But, they have changed editors and a lot of staff, and a reporter is (unfortunately) having issues with her pregnancy and may be going on her maternity leave early.
I'm interviewing for it as a temporary job to cover for her,but it has a chance of being permanent.
YAY for having a job in the field I actually went to school for!
