News: GL to all our ladies in the 2ww! Congrats to kar5162 on the birth of your baby girl!

Updates: Last week, I was worried about having to have another C-section. mrsmikey's Amelia was having some nursing issues, but otherwise doing great. faeriequeeneonwow had her 20 week scan and everything looks great. BartsGirl was in the 2ww. Question:  What are your plans after baby #2 - are you going to be done or will you have another at some point?

If you'd like to address a question to the group, please feel free to page or PM me.

Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-in!

  • Well, I had my last midwife appt yesterday and I'm still 1cm and 70%. Baby's still high, and no other labor indications. Actually, I think she's higher than she was last week...*sigh*. Anyway, my midwife still says there's always a possibility it'll happen before the C-section, but at this point, I'd imagine we're having a C-section. Never thought I'd end up here...one born 6 weeks early and another taken forcibly at 40 weeks! Crazy.

QOTD: I'd love to have 4-5, but I think I'll only be able to convince DH on 3. Having a preemie (esp after going to full term this time) hasn't really changed my opinions. Although, now that all my kids are going to be C-sections, that's another concern to think about, as well.

Since baby is definitely coming tomorrow, this will probably be the last check-in I'll be able to post - is anyone willing to keep it going? Maybe one of the newly TTC or pregnant girls? Becketts? BartsGirl?

  • Shannon good luck tomorrow. Praying for an easy delivery for you.

If no one wants to take over I will. I love reading all the updates and hearing how all the new momma's are doing. It definitely gives me hope for #2.

  • Hi ladies!  I cannot believe that Shannon is next!  Good luck tomorrow!

As for us, we are chugging along.  I can't believe that my baby is already 3 months old!  My preemie is in love with my full-term baby.  Brotherly love at it's best, right here... (psst...the preemie is on the left)...

I hope you all are well!

ETA:  Oh...the QOTW!  We are definitely going to give #3 a go...but not until #2 is at least a year old.  I talked to my doc about it and they are recommending that I do the P17 shots again along with cervical checks from weeks 16-24.  They also are recommending that I have an amnio at 37 weeks to check for maturity so that they can induce, given my two past precipitous labors.  I will do the shots and cervical checks again, but not the amnio for induction.  If #3 wants to come with quickness also, then so be it.  I'll just call the ambulance a little earlier next time.  :)

  • Good luck tomorrow Shannon!

I would love to have a 3rd child but I don't think my husband wants anymore so we are probably done unless I can talk him into another in a few years.

Conceived twins with IVF January 2008. Lost baby a at 20 1/2 weeks due to premature rupture of membranes and held onto baby b. Baby b (Brandon) born at 26 weeks and 1 day on July 5, 2008. Wesley born full term on June 29, 2011. My blog http://karenandstu.blogspot.com Lilypie Premature Baby tickers Lilypie Pregnancy tickers image

    Thanks!

I usually just open up 2 browser windows and copy and paste the last week's check-in into one of them. Then I use the last week's check-in as a guide to make edits/updates to the new check-in. Takes about 5-10min. Every once in a while I'll go through the list of Bumpies and delete those who aren't active on the boards (if you google search bump names, post histories come up).

  • Good luck tomorrow Shannon!!

We're good here, can't believe it's been over a month already! We're only having 2, but as Quinn gets older it makes me really sad I'll never have a baby again :(

Thanks for posting this. I know sometimes I have weird formatting issues with copy and paste.

Thanks! I can't wait to have this baby in my arms....and something to drink/eat, no food or liquids after midnight and I woke up at 12:30am desperately wanting a drink!

  • Update: We saw baby and the heartbeat (HR 143) on Monday!!!  My anxiety level plummeted. Big Smile  I have normal labs/nurse visit in 2 weeks, then another u/s in 4 weeks.  I'm so excited that I can finally feel excited instead of anxious!

Question: I'm pretty sure we'll be 2 and done.  Between DD's premature arrival and our infertility issues this time, I don't think I can handle the stress.  However, if this little one makes it to full term without complications, we'll re-assess.
