seth has been sleeping in a cosleeper with me on the couch next to him. we are trying to transition him to his crib now that he only wakes up 2-3 times/night. I can get him down in the crib for solid naps, but I'm still having a rough time at night. Any suggestions?
Re: getting baby to sleep in the crib
I would try introducing a common element that you can transition with him to the crib. For instance, my DS has a lamb that plays white noise (rain sounds). We put this with him when he slept in his co-sleeper. Once he associated it with sleeping & something comforting, then we moved him to the crib WITH the lamb. There was still a comforting element in the crib with him, even though it was different.
Also, swaddle him, pat him to sleep if necessary, and just stay the course. Don't give in and regress back to the co-sleeper. After a few nights, he will associate his crib with sleep.
It helps if you are having him nap in the crib, too.
GL!!
(he's adorable btw)
