Photoshop and other imaging software should have a watermarking option.

If she is using a PS program she can create a layer, paste the image or start typing text in the new layer, then adjust the opacity down to what she likes.

Picnik is a free editing program she can use online. Super simple to add text/watermarks to photos there.

I use windows live writer and you can do it there too. that's free as well.
