Hcg levels

Hcg Levels went from 9784

to

14,876

Not quite doubled, but it was a bit short of 72 hours time.

Dr. wants to repeat the ultrasound on Friday. I am simply going to go absolutely insane until then!

Anybody have experience with hcg levels that were a little off (good or bad) and care to share their story?

Re: Hcg levels

  • I don't remember off hand what the number was, but when I got my blood test results, it appeared that I was two weeks further along than I was.  The ultrasound cleared that up. Baby was measuring 7 weeks and had a strong heartbeat.  I'm still progressing from that timing, not the blood work.

  • My numbers were doubling every 2 days or so and recently they only doubled one time in a week, which is a little concerning. The numbers are in my siggy if you're interested. My RE's office explained that once the levels reach a certain point they start to double slower, and yours seem pretty high so I don't think you should be too worried because they are still increasing.

I have to go back for a 3rd ultrasound tomorrow to see if everything is okay.

    Good luck!

  • the higher they get, the longer they take to double. my were sky high, and doubling appropriatly for how high they were. i was told my pregnancy was most likey not viable due to levels being off. 8 months later my healthy as horse baby girl arrived. good luck, and stay positive!
  • Thank you ladies!!

This is especially helpful for anyone who might be going through something similar:

     * For HCG levels <1200 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is 48-72 hours.

    * For HCG levels 1200 to 6000 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is 72-96 hours.
    * For HCG levels >6000 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is >96 hours.

This actually just gave me a little hope that my levels doubling one time in a week might be normal... if they are doubling every 96 hours then that might be true. Thank you for sharing.
