Gender - Who knows?

So my next ultrasound isn't until 20 weeks but my doctor did mention that there were private facilities that could do an ultrasound before then. I've looked into some and they offer a gender reveal package as soon as 14 weeks. It comes with a money back guarantee too...I'm thinking about it. 

How early did you find out? What's the earliest that an ultrasound can really pick that up? I feel like 14 weeks is pretty early but this is my first pregnancy so I'm not really sure.

I was 13 weeks with DS when he gave us a 80% chance its a boy and he is indeed a boy!

With DD at 12 weeks, the doc said that she looked like a boy... then at 16 weeks we saw that she was in fact a girl. With this one I was 13 weeks (but the baby measured 14 weeks), and the doc said definitely boy. I could also see it for myself. But DH and I decided to do that urine gender prediction test just to make sure, and we're definitely having a boy this time. I would say, for safety, don't go before 15 weeks. I've heard that it's easier to spot boys early than girls.

I found out from my doctor's office at 18 weeks last time and will be exactly 18 weeks this time.  That's the earliest I would feel comfortable.  I'm anxious to find out, but am patient enough to wait just a few more weeks so I can be certain.

We have a place that offers the early prediction starting at 15 weeks. I ultimately decided not to do it thanks to my friends advice. She said she always looked at her 20 weeks scan as a half way there present, and that finding out the gender was like "congrats you're halfway there!" I thought that was an awesome way of looking at it, even though I would love to know the gender now!!

i'm high risk and my dr wants to do monthly ultrasounds... so my next one is at 16 weeks. Hopefully we'll find out then!! only 2 more weeks!!

LowGan I think I'm in the same boat as you. I'm SOO excited to find out, but my next u/s isn't until 20 weeks. I've been researching some elective u/s places in the area. So far the best I've found is $75 for nice little 2D package. They'll do it as early as 16 weeks. I'm thinking I'll go sometime right before 17 weeks to give baby as much time to "grow" before my patience wears out.

That three extra weeks is a lifetime!! Can't wait to know more about my LO!

There's a place by me that will do it at 14 weeks for only $39 (with a coupon).  Don't know if they have a money back guarantee... that will be well worth asking about.  But even so... I'd pay $40 just to see the baby again, even in creepy 3D.... I'm a sucker... so I'm doing it!
