my new nauseas 'subsider'

it's not really a cure but this morning I was having hard time drinking anything. water was making me green, the iced black tea i loved yesterday was grossing me out and I puked apple juice at least 4 times. I did not want sprite or coke or any soda even thought i wanted something carbonated because the thought of the heavy sugar syrup was grossing me out. I know...rough day today. My food and drink aversions are so weird. DH suggested this:

it's a ginger ale we drank in jamaica on our honeymoon. he had to run to the store anyway for stuff for dinner and they sell it in the 'ethnic' section there. it's really spicy made with real ginger so I'm actually able to stomach it and its knocked my nausea out for at least 20 minutes now. It might be an acquired taste because it is so strong (tastes like a carbonated thegingerpeople chew https://www.gingerpeople.com/) but it works! it works! lol. sorry just wanted to share in case anyone is a bad off as I am right now.

also what are yall drinking? i have tried everything from a very long list of juices, hot lemon water, plain ice water, sodas, iced teas...everything is a no go.

Re: my new nauseas 'subsider'

  • I JUST started getting nausea on a daily/all day basis. I also love ginger beer, so I may have to try that. I've been sucking on those GinGin candies and it helps for like 5 minute intervals. I also eat a TON if ice pops! They help for about 10 minutes at a time. To drink, I've found cranberry or other very tart juices with carbonated water mixed 1/2 and 1/2 sits pretty well. I also have country time lemonade packs that I make in big water bottles so they aren't so concentrated. That helps a little. I usually love water, but I can't do it at all anymore unless there's some kind of flavor. Hope your pain eases up soon.

  • That's a great idea!  I also discovered sparking/mineral water and lemon or lime.  It has been a lifesaver this pregnancy and last.  You get the carbonation with a little fruit and it's so refreshing but not sweet.
