The book is absolutely worth it! It doesn't have coupons but isn't general advice either - it is specific review of brands and recommendations on what you will need and what you won't. We brought it with us registering and used it all the time even afterward (i.e. buying a convertible carseat, getting more clothes as he got older).
Just make sure you get the right one -- by Denise Fields (there is one with a similar name that just tells you advice on saving money).
I'm a baby n00b and I bought it. It's useful, so far! I don't know shiit about baby stuff so it gives you the low-down on what you need and what's worth it and what isn't and what to look for. Very helpful. It's going to save me a lot of time reading reviews, etc.
I just got my copy. Its pretty amazing. I have no clue what to look for when buying cribs, etc but they really talk you through exactly what to look for and what you really should avoid.
I borrowed it from the library and actually hated it. I did not find it useful. But I am a DIY-er and a coupon-er and they say right in the beginning of the book that they are not either one of those.

This was me with baby #1 and this book helped me a lot! SO. WORTH. IT!!
Well I got it, and while its a little overwhelming, what part of being pg for the first time isnt? So far so good. I am going at it little by little and like all the information. Even if I dont use all of it there is plenty there to make informed decisions!

I found it super useful when registering. Sure, you can find all the same info online, but it's nice to have it all organized into one place. I somehow lost my copy and I'm sad

Love love love the book... My husband loves the book more than I. It has a lot of helpful information!
Worth buying in my opinion.
I used to be "Chasingthedog" but it would never let me update my profile.

My friend is also expecting & told me that it is a "MUST HAVE"... Really helps narrow down the good products for baby :-)
