Any thoughts on this article...LIP (football and 9/11)

I was just curious to see what others thought about this article and the fines some players are facing.

i really hope they re-think this and allow players to wear items

i think the author's last line summed it up perfectly 

"It's a simple and honorable gesture. Not a fineable offense."

I actually think the should add something like a patch or band to the uniform for teh day.  Then it would be a united front.  The sneakers are bit personal in terms of fit.  They do it for Breast Cancer awareness they had a while to figure out what to do for Sunday.

That is really Awful of the NFL. I mean really?? How sucky of them.

i agree with you worms -- I feel that people express their greif for this tragic event in different ways and I believe if these guys want to show their support then they should be able to. While I do understand the conformity of uniforms and such, I think that they should be allowed to wear something honoring those that we have lost and those that are still fighting.

DH petitioned his departments command staff to allow them to wear their blue line mourning stripe and they allowed it for the day.

Agreed.  The MLB is all about league-wide or team-wide tributes, and the NFL should do something similar.  I'm sure they will have some kind of tribute or moment of silence, but some kind of patch or special jersey would be appropriate, too.
