DS won't stay asleep in his crib for more than an hour

it is wearing me out! this has been going on for over two weeks.  i put him down he sleeps for an hour than screams his brains out until i pick him up and put him in bed with us.  i'm cutting him some slack b/c he's getting six farkin' teeth at once, but mama is tired! and would love to be able to stretch out and sleep in bed and really sleep. ha, ha....sleep, what a cruel, cruel joke.

  • Ohh no I'd be sleeping on an air mattress on the floor next to him. That way you can sleep stretched out and if he falls off the bed he'll fall on to the soft air mattress!!! JK

    I can't believe he's getting 6 teeth!!!!!!!!!!OUCH!

  • an air mattress on the floor is a good idea.  the only problem is he'd be screaming his little face off until i put him on it with me.  ahhhh..... i vow to work on this problem with tooth #5 and #6 are all the way through.  i never heard of a kid getting 6 teeth at once.  everytime i think he's done for awhile he gets another two. oh well, i guess once we're through this he!! we'll be done for awhile.  right now he's asleep beside me on the couch.  i can't believe he'd rather sleep on the couch next to me rather than in his nice comfy crib.

  • Has he always had trouble sleeping in his crib?  if not I suspect it might have something to do with the teething.

Fenton has been having trouble sleeping lately as well, and he actually prefers his crib over our bed.  He is oddly enough cutting a tooth, which is strange for a 2.5 month old child, sadly there isn't much we can do for him because the OTC meds for teething aren't safe for children under the age of 4 months.

Needless to say DH and I have been taking turns sleeping on the air matress in his room.

  • Can they play you at this age? A little "I'll just scream until I get that cozy spot by her left pit?"   ;-)  Smart babies. Poor gums.

Ava used to hate the huge-ness of her crib when she was testy, so I would cozy her up in her moses basket, and then put that IN the crib. Of course, at that point in time, I could put her to sleep on a countertop and not worry about her moving... so maybe notsomuch there.

I have had good luck with Hyland's Teething tabs if you're looking for some new hocus pocus ! And motrin (kids) seems to work better for us than tylenol. FWIW.

    Dear God....

I hope they're thru soon and you guys can all get some sleep again!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
