Preemies

Stressed!

Well I had the babies. But of course they came out premature because I had them both last week @ 33 weeks. (September 3,2011) Once I knew I was going to give birth, I was major excited.I was just tired of being pregnant!!! Honestly I didnt know the outcome of me not having my kids home with me will trully affect me and have me stressed out.Im super worried that they are in the NICU and I call every three hours to find out updates on them. But I just wish my girls a speedy, safe and, healhty recovery. Hoping they be home soon.Sad

Congratulations!  The stress is just part of having a preemie.  My son came home 3 weeks ago, and I get up about every hour, every noise, etc. to check on him in the night, and during the day, we're pretty much always together.  When he was in the NICU, I'd go to visit him several times a day and call over night.  (Our hospital was only about 10 minutes from home, so this was doable.)  I think we all go through this.

My best advice is to give yourself (and DH) permission to take a break.  And don't beat yourself up for attending to your needs when you are done.  DH and I did this a few times during DS's 6-week NICU stay, making a point not to discuss DS while we were on our date.  It really helped to clear our heads and relieve some stress.  We've also had MIL babysit a couple of times so we could get a break since we've been home.  Your baby will be ok with a trusted adult.

Yes this is true.Im the one who have all the break dwns and DH Im guessing he vents in a different way. Its so hard. I swear I didnt know it was going to be this hard. Its hard. Thanks for your comfort.

  • congrats!!! many T&P!
