awkward! telling the Ex-h!

We still see each other regularly because of our son.  While we're still on relatively good terms, I'm worried he's not going to react well to the news.  No idea how to tell him, and I know I really have to before I start showing a lot.

Any advice would be fantastic! 

 

(Trust me, all the snarky shyte that can get dished out - I've already said to myself)

I guess I don't see a reason to make a big deal out of it.  How old is your son?  I mean I would just wait until you are obvious and be like "Oh yeah...".  And that be that. If it's an issue it's his not yours.

He's just been weird since the split, and he's not a fan of my FI (aka his "replacement" in his head).  So I'm mildly concerned about his reaction.

I don't think he'd do anything crazy - but he can be really mean sometimes.

Hate to sound like a used up cliche, but you can't control his action's...only your reaction.  If he's mean....well there you go...that's why he's not your husband anymore.  Off with his head.  Ok maybe not that.  But walk away, and go home to your FI who isn't a douche.

I was outed to my ex-sister-in-law by my boss... So I had to tell my ex a bit sooner then I had anticipated.  I told him when I picked up my daughter at his house - I asked him to help me carry her stuff out and told him in the driveway so I could make the quick get away if needed, but he took it well and congratulated me and I was on my way... best of luck!

I told my ex h and I was expecting some drama but turns out he was more sad than anything else. So maybe you will be surprised by his reaction.

My husband told his ex... and he called her to be nice, she had really wanted kids and he had refused its the reason they got a divorce so he wanted to be polite and let her know.  She was a lil sad but it went ok.  I think just tell him in a nice way and heck do it on the phone.  Then if he is a jerk you can hang up

How long have you been separated? You make it sound like not long.

Oh how I dread this as well.  I wasn't married to my son's dad, but when we split I still got the I love you texts and he told me as recently as a few months ago how it took him a year to get over me and he still loved me.  Then a few months ago (right after I got married) he said how weird it would be if I got preg and I wasn't going to anytime soon was I.  I plan on waiting until after the first tri and just telling him i'm pregnant as I pick up my son (not drop off).  I don't want my son questioned the entire weekend and it will give him a week to get over it.

My boyfriend told his ex-wife right after we told the little one because he didn't want her telling the little one that this isn't her brother or sister... she's a PITA like that.  Apparently none of my family is in anyway the little one's family and all this other b.s.  Anyway, he told her and she said "Oh I know.  I do know what maternity clothes look like after all."  I've lost 10 lbs because of morning sickness. WTF?!  It won't be pretty but good luck girl!
