Q about beta

This is probably a stupid question, because I'm sure they have to send the blood out for results, but I wanted to double check:

Do they give you your results while you're still in the office, or do they call you later that day?

Because that will just totally drive me nuts..lol. And I don't want to find out by a phone call at work! If it's positive, I'd like me and SO to at least be together when we get the results. I'm thinking I'm going to HPT the night before if this is the case.

I've never had a beta draw b/c my RE only does them for IUI patients if you get a + HPT but I'm pretty sure you'll have to wait until they get the results back (it won't be while you're in the office). GL!

I've always gotten a call later in the afternoon. The b/w has to go to the lab to be run so you can't get it immediately at your appt.

This. That is why I typically POAS the day before too. GL!

Thanks ladies That's what I figured. Yeah I'm definitely going to the night before, I'd rather be prepared for that phone call at work.

Yeah, I always poas ahead of time. I don't want that info (which is always negative for me) at work!

Yeah, I definitely think they've seen enough of my mini-mental breakdowns at work lately lol

I always get the call later that afternoon and I usually know what the results will be from POAS.  However, this time I took the day off from work and my mom and I are going to do something fun together!  I am also NOT going to POAS this time and just wait for the beta.  I guess I am just so sick of seeing "not pregnant" that I want to hear it from someone else so I don't have to look at it again.  Praying for a BFP!!!

You could also let the call roll to voicemail and listen to it together with DH once you get home... assuming you have that much self control!  I think that's what I'll probably do, assuming I don't cave and do a HPT beforehand.

Ooh that's a good idea! They usually call my work but I could tell them I want them to call my cell instead and leave a vm...hmm

Yeah I thought about taking the day off and SO and I hanging out and doing something together until we get the call, but I think I'd rather have the distraction lol. Although, I probably won't get anything done at work all day. We shall see lol.
