Your user name wouldn't have to do with the amazing Doctor Who, would it? My husband and I love that show. We've seen the last 5 seasons and are looking forward to this saturday night .
Yes it definitely does, I'm a Who addict! I've even managed to get my 6yo nephew and 4yo niece hooked on the show haha. This Saturday's episode definitely looks interesting, I didn't see much of The Doctor in the trailer but I'm sure he'll be all over the ep. (after all, it is his show). Do you have a favorite Doctor?
Yes! Another Who addict, this makes me really happy.
Well, I wasn't a fan of Christopher Eccleston - so I honestly didn't watch much of those seasons. I got really attached to David Tennant so it was really hard to see him go but Matt Smith is really growing on me. He seems a lot more "alien like" than David Tennant. David was a lot more emotional and easier to get attached if you know what I mean. I guess I like Matt Smith a little better now... he plays a great corky doctor.
Me too! I know who addicts are out there, I just never seem to be able to find them.
It took me a long time to get used to Matt Smith, but I do like him now. Only like though. Eccleston was ok, but I am glad he only lasted for the first season. I don't know if I would've carried on watching for this many seasons if he had stayed. My fave doctor will always be David Tennant (at least so far). I think he brought a whole new dynamic to the show and revamped it after Eccleston. Smith does a great job, but he also had that Tennant magic to follow and incorporate into his performance.
After Tennant left Who I caught up on a bunch of his other work via Netflix, he really is a great actor. He just finished up a summer long on-stage version of Much Ado About Nothing with Catherine Tate - I really wish I could've seen that. Though I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to get past the "doctor donna" aspect until about half way through haha.
Yeah, I love Tennant. I like both the doctors for different reasons. I still have trouble "connecting" with Smith - he almost seems completely detached from his emotions... but I like the fact that he seems more aged or mature - he plays an alien perfectly. And I love Tennant because I could relate to him so much more and I felt like he was more complex of a character.
I would really like to see some of Tennant's other work, I best it's great - he's fantastic!
Re: Too much BBC over the long weekend ...
Mmm, that sounds lovely.
