Hi, Lovely Ladies!
I't's been some time since I've given an update on me and thanks to some encouragement from a special lady (Hi, Worms!), I feel that it's time to fill you in.
If you remember, we were going into this last cycle as just that... our last cycle. We were going to move to donor egg if it didn't work but I needed that closure to move. I was ready but ... you know.. just needed that final 'doneness'.
After all the drama with Pia (my Pain In Arse cyst) we were happy to finally get started. Our new RE gave us the clearance to try a new protocol that uses testo gel to prime for the cycle. It did make me a bit more... hmmm... angry LOL but again, with our last cycle, we were trying any and every thing!
So, we continued stimming... then... they tried to cancel us again. (Follow along on yoru score cards.. Cancel Attempt #2) I love my new RE though. She left it up to us and was so supportive on everything. Within the cycle, we were canceled 3 times!! And each time we said we wanted to keep on. I actually was so 'blah' about all of it that I was tuned out. It was the most relaxing cycle I've had!
So, we forged on with the one follicle, a possible cyst (Darn Pia) and then a second follicle popped up. My RE said to trigger. So we did the retrieval on Friday, 6/24. We got one egg. I was excited! I didn't want another "Sorry there were no eggs" retrieval. We got one "really good looking egg". And it was funny because another RE was supposed to do it. He actually did the pretalk. Then when I woke up, I found out MY RE came in at the last minute and switched with the RE. She really wanted to do the retrival.
So with my one eggie we waited for the fert report. We got a call the 25th and said if fertilized and we were doing a two day transfer. TWO DAY! I was like... yeah, whatever. We just kept saying One Day At A Time and left it in God's hands. So we did the transfer of my 2 day 2 cell Grade 2 embryo on the 26th... and ..we waited.
I got a call on July 11th in the am and I didn't answer it because we wanted to wait til we got home. Well, a comedy of errors including the message never coming through and us speeding to Walgreens to get a test to POAS, we found out that it worked! That we were pregnant!
I was stunned, scared, not sure, trying not to make myself feel happy! All in one! My first beta was 657 and my second was 1603. So we left for our trip to Spain (if you remember that was DH's surprise trip) on the 15th and even though it was fun, every ting I felt I was wondering what was going on! Darn you, IF!!!
Anyhoo, (sorry so long), we had the u/s when we got back and we saw the HB. It was 166. And I was released to my OB! I'm so in awe right now and kinda in disbelief.
I didn't want to post about the cycle while we were going on because honestly, I didn't want let you all down as my cheerleaders when I knew this was a true hail Mary! If we didn't get canceled in the beginning, I probably would have continued posting. But I guess I didn't want to get all of your hopes up and have to watch the HUGS when it didn't work. Does that make sense? I didn't want you all to go through another round of that for me.
The past months have been really weird and still unbelieveable. Yes... I said months... you see... as of today, I'm 12 weeks 4 days pregnant and so far everything looks good. Wow... even typing that feels surreal! I wanted to post each week but unfortunately I let fear take over. I was so nervous that things would go wrong. Darn you again, IF!! In fact, we finally told our parents this past Saturday. When we knew we cleared the first trimester.
So, that is my update! Crazy, huh??? It's still so surreal!!! I don't feel out of the woods but I'm trying to relax and enjoy today and each day as it comes. Sounds easier when said but darn if it isn't that easy.
I could have NEVER DONE THE PAST THREE YEARS WITHOUT ALL OF YOU!! I would have lost my mind! I keep all the exchange gifts, cards and emails in plain visible sight and it is a constant reminder that all of my Lovely Ladies are right there beside me. And I

you all for that! I'll be sticking here if that's okay with ya'll! You Lovely Ladies are home to me!
