if you are starting leave early, how did you do it?...please advise

so my boss told me she was fine with me starting my leave at 39 weeks. she even suggested it! she said to just get it cleared w/ the dr. I did....he said he was fine with it too. so after my appt. he told the lady up front in the dr's office to fill out the paperwork so i could start my leave at 39 weeks.

she then came back and gave me the third degree about why i was requesting early leave. I said there was no medical reason but my boss and dr. agree that it's fine, so what more do you want? she didn't agree to it- and flat out said she wouldn't do it. what else do i need to do? have them make up a medical reason- like too much stress at the job? can't this just be as simple as boss/dr. agree and lady fills out the papers?!

I would ask the front desk person to ask the dr about it.  It isn't her call it is yours and your dr.  She isn't the one with the medical degree.  My dr filled out the forms I needed during my appointment.

That is ridiculous, I cannot believe your boss did that!!! My work allows anywhere up to 2 weeks before due date without medical documentation. I guess you should have your doctor right reasons for stress, and that you need to be home relaxing.
I am blown away though, by your boss - VERY SUCKY!

ok, I would have lost it on her high-school educated a$$!  Talk to the doc, this should NOT be a problem nor should it be her call!  Um, you are a paper-filler-outer biotch!
