  • OMG, that sounds amazing! I've never made bierocks, but I love my grandma's. Were they hard?

  • My secret recipe for bierocks: (warning my BB formats my posts into one big parapgraph). You need two pounds hamburger, 1 head cabbage, onion if desired, 2 boxes hot roll mix and everything those directions call for. (you can buy hot roll mix but they other pillsbury quick bread mixes. In my store it is also by the Bisquick). Make hot rolls mix according to directions. (use both boxes, double everything.). Brown hamburger and onion. Chop cabbage into shreds, or small chunks. Drain hamburger. Add cabbage. Cook down. After dough has rose, pinch off a toddler fist size of dough. Roll into circle. Put meat mixture in. Seal. Get a whole pan full, and bake at 375 until golden brown. If I have leftover dough I make into cinnamon rolls.

  • I used to make the yeast dough by scratch and then discovered the hot roll mix and I have NEVER killed the yeast since then.
