would you buy this bed for a 3 y/o? (PIP)

Re: would you buy this bed for a 3 y/o? (PIP)

  • It's cute, but no.  At least not my 3 year old.  He'd be up and down constantly, and I'd be too paranoid he'd get hurt.

  • My DS would be fine in it. We got him a full-size with no rails at 2.5 with no problems. He does well climbing and is good at staying in bed most of the time.

I think it really depends on the kid.

  • Its not my style, but my DD would be fine it. We have never used any kind of rails on her bed and haven't had any issues. My DD would like a bed like that. I just don't think it is practical.

  • It is super cute but I would be concerned of falls. In am paranoid with DD's ful size bed being higher off the ground and she has a bed rail and bumpers to try to keep her towards the wall. Does your DD move around a lot in her sleep?

  • No way, she would be in all the drawers all the time, instead of sleeping. Or climbing up them...
  • My DD would be jumping off of it as a means of entertainment. I think I'd have to wait another year. I like the concept though with their secret area underneath!

  • No. Too high for such a young kid. Super adorable, though! I love the play area underneath. Maybe for a 5 year old?

That's what I was thinking, too.

  • No, but DD is quite the daredevil.  I could see her jumping off of it for fun.

  • For my 3 year old no way!  She is super clumsy and I would be ultra paranoid.

  • Nope.  Around 3.5 my LO started having nightmares, and I can't imagine her coming down safely if she wanted to get to me fast.  Additionally, so far she is dry through the night but if she woke and had to pee urgently I don't think it would be safe.

  • No I wouldn't.  It seems unsafe and unpractical for a 3 year old.

  • Adorable!  I would have to say no though too.  Maybe at 5 or 6.  I would be so worried that even if they were great with the stairs and staying put, that occasional time they went to get down and were disoriented in the night!  Just looks like a LO could get really hurt.
