What DS can wear hand-knit sweaters with?

I was Team Green with my pregnancy.  I received 3 beautiful hand-crocheted sweaters.  Now that I have a beautiful son, I'm wondering what I can pair such a sweater with. 

I'm thinking the sweet and adorable look is the only way this could work.  I tried a pair of jeans and khakis, but both made the sweaters look delicate and girly.  

Before I put them in storage, do you have any suggestions?

I'm not to overly worried about my son looking to delicate. The other day he was wearing a vintage sailor shirt I found at the thrift store and handmade pants that had hippos all over them, we got several compliments on the outfit.  In other words I would not nessarily worry as long as you like it.Babies are cute and delicate!

Maybe brown corduroys?

Personally I would love hand knit sweaters paired with cute patterend pants!   I like the idea of a  a train fabric. Baby pants are are so easy to make if you sew!

What about a pair of cargo type khakis? 

I know what you mean though - we got one and I don't think he ever wore it. Just the knit hat.
